Biography
Silvia Weidenbach is a designer and maker, who works in the field of object, adornment and event. She engages in particular with the subject of beauty, the precious and the ugly, in detailed and complex ways in various media. Silvia's jewellery pieces combine new technologies with traditional artisan and craft skills and it is through her understanding and use of both that she discovers new forms of expression. Weidenbach has studied at the Royal College of Art, London (MA GSM&J 2011), at the University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein, Halle, Germany (Diploma in Fine Art 2009) and at the State College for Glass and Jewellery, Neugablonz, Germany (silversmith apprenticeship 2000-2003).
